We have a wealth of experience and have worked with a number of customers over the years in a large range of industries. Because of this, we understand the different needs for a huge range of items. However, the designs of these products can sometimes have flaws when they are ready for manufacturing.
Drawing engineers and designers are not always aware of the capabilities of tube bending machines; with this brings drawings that are not easily achievable to produce and requires expensive compound tooling, extra steps with unnecessary bends, or require making in multiple parts and joining them via welding. All this requires resources and can quickly run up the cost of a product.
Whether it is furniture, playground sets, balustrading, handrails, or an art installation, our guidance during the design process enables a speedy solution. Our aim is to help all our customers to reduce their costs on design, prototyping, and batch manufacturing.

Some simple guidance for designing a tube product
- Speak to Dealercast for their input before drawing up
- Check the supplier tooling capability
- Keep a gap in between each bend
- Stick to three different radii maximum for each bent part
- Always use readily available standard tube sizes that any tube stockist would keep
- Always ensure any radius of a hard/small bend is at least twice the size of the tubes diameter i.e. a 35mm tube needs a minimum radius of 35mm/diameter of 70mm (a 2D bend). Any less and the tube is likely to break on the machine, although not always impossible with the correct setup
- A radius of a hard bend can go up to around a 6D bend
- A roll form bend can be anything greater than 6D to infinity
